Spring 2007

We'll start w/ Micah's last day of school.... He had a field day(bottom pic) w/ lots of games and competitions. I got to help out and run some of the games. It was a blast. As soon as Dunes State Park opened up I got the boys up to the Dunes to camp for a night. They were pretty tough little guys and loved tent camping. I was quite surprised that there was little challenge getting them to sleep all night in the tent. We did a couple mile hike before the sun went down so that probably helped a little. You can see a picture of one of the dunes they made me climb. Me and the two thugs even got to play on the beach for a while. It was a little chilly and had to eat breakfast in the back of the Blazer.

So, It's Been A Year...

Well, after receiving many negative comments, and checking out the blog myself, I realized that it's been a whole year since a recent post (which, in my opinion, kind of defeats the purpose of a blog if it isn't very current.) Anyway, here's the good ole' Luce family in all our glory. I'm not sure what Haddies got there on Dad's back but this is how we travel these days. Traffic on 49 has to stop when we cross the street. Oh well... With the long delay I'll try to get everyone caught up w/ the summer anyway

Update on the ol' house remodel

Well, we're about halfway on the remodel project on our new house. It's been quite an adventure so far, and I thought I'd put a few pictures on here for some entertainment.

We closed on the house on Dec. 15th and since then Dan has been working like a dog to fix the place up. It's like a living through an episode of This Old House. We started off thinking that most of the renovation would be mostly cosmetic, as well as adding an upstairs bathroom. Of course, 6 weeks and thousands of $$$ later we have changed our tune. We had plumbers redo all of the plumbing in the joint and drywallers are currently taping and mudding a houseful of all new drywall. As crazy as all of this has been, it's a blessing to know that once we are all said and done, the inside of this house will mostly brand-new. Now if we can just figure out a way to keep our sweet little Fearsome Foursome from destroying it all...

Cruel and Unusual Punishment: AKA Christmas Pictures

"Deck the cards with family pictures....falalalalalala
Put the kids in matching outfits...falalalalalalala
Mom will have a mental breakdown... EVERYBODY!!"

All morning I told myself..."one picture, that's all you need...one picture...it will all be worth it...just 4 little smiles...you can do this...one picture..."
Ugh. One picture was right. Out of 40 - we got 1 where they are all looking in the general vicinity of the camera without yawning, picking their noses or glaring as if someone had just shot their dog. Oh well. Of course that will be the official Luce Christmas card photo...so you will have to deal with some of the other 39 until December...or January...or February, depending on how organized/motivated I am. :) Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

PS. We bought a house this past weekend! More details to follow!!!

Potty Progress

Now I am sure that all of you are just sitting around wondering about the bathroom habits of our 3 year old, so here's the poop.
DREW IS FINALLY USING THE POTTY CHAIR!!!
Can I get a hallelujah? Amen! His big prize was a great big sucker and a soak in Mommy's tub - sans the siblings. Needless to say, he thought he had just been crowned king.

Haddie

Just thought I would throw in a quick update on the Hadster. She is growing so fast! She is trying her darndest to roll over, but hasn't quite completed her mission. Thankfully, she is sleeping through the night much better, so Mommy is a happy lady! Here's a couple pics of this sweet little darlin' investigating her blanket...

Porkfest

Ahhh, there's nothing like a hometown festival! Kouts celebrated the 30th annual Porkfest this weekend and this year we got to join in the soggy festivities. Micah and Mom got to walk in the parade (or at least half of it before it started pouring!) Luckily we had friends along the parade route and we got to duck under their porch for cover.
Dan was a speed demon in the Kouts Country Classic 4-mile Run! The race course went right by the house and so we all got to sit in the driveway and cheer him on. (Ok, yes, we are all big dorks.) Uncle Shane and Uncle Scott also ran
and so we had a blast being in the cheering section!
Here's some pics - one of Dan and Shane (luckily we have a really great camera; they would've just been one big blur on any average 35 mm!) :) The other is of Miss Hannah, getting all dolled up for the parade...she ended up taking a nap instead of going, but oh well.

Mrs. Good's #1 Student

Is he not the cutest kindergartener EVER??? So what if his backpack takes up his whole body! :) He did great when he was dropped off today; he was all business.
Micah is in Mrs. Good's afternoon class, so he goes to school from 12:00 - 2:35 pm. Fortunately, he already knows 4 of the kids in his class - they are all on his soccer team!
More info about the big first day to come...

First Day of School

I thought today would be a good day to get this thing started, since it's a VERY big day in the Luce household. #1 is off to KINDERGARTEN!!!
